previous management owns the rights to the "Diablo" and "U.S. Open" name. No U.S. Open at Mountain Creek, but i beleive they are planning similar event at Mountain Creek.

The vast majority of the trails are single track in the woods. This video is only the end of one of the trails. Overall the trip was great. The lift wasn't running when we got there, so they doing shuttle runs out of a pickup and JR (the guy that runs the show) dicounted everyone lift tickets and put out coffee and a sandwich platter for all the riders. So a $14 lift ticket to ride from 1 to 7 was pretty good. they stayed oprn later because the lift wasn't running at first, but they had it running around 1 or so.

it's not 100% officially open... we've been working on it for about two weeks and got a ton of work done. SO much benching, raking, weed wacking, pruning, building, and now, apparently, we're going to build two berms tomorrow. friday is most likely the official opening date, but the whole thing is completely ride-able at speed. just to let you know, also... we've been eyeing up four more new sections (they're not really long, but all of them have some serious features. some natural, some hand built). we're starting work on one or more of those lines the second frankenstein opens. friday is the plan, from what i hear.
